GOBBLE
This pro bono project explores how a small restaurant can be meaningfully transformed through minimal design intervention. Rather than relying on extensive renovation or costly construction, the approach focuses on a few carefully considered moves that can bring the greatest spatial and visual impact. The goal is to extract maximum value from limited means while creating a more inviting and memorable dining environment.
At the center of the design is a series of custom-made planter boxes, developed in varying heights to help define the space with subtle clarity. These elements act as soft architectural boundaries, organizing seating areas, circulation, and moments of pause without closing the restaurant off or making it feel smaller. Combined with potted plants, the planter boxes introduce texture, greenery, and a sense of freshness that immediately changes the character of the interior.
The design language takes cues from the restaurant’s refreshing menu, translating that same lightness and vitality into the atmosphere of the space. The intervention is simple but intentional, using plants, proportion, and spatial definition to create a setting that feels calm, lively, and approachable. This project demonstrates how thoughtful design does not always require large gestures, but can instead emerge through small, strategic changes that enhance identity, experience, and everyday function.
